Hinterland Travel is a specialist adventure travel company, founded on over 35 years of overland adventure travel experience by Geoff Hann, its owner and Managing Director. The knowledge and expertise of Geoff in the Middle East, Mesopotamia Iraq and Afghanistan has put the Company to the forefront of Iraq and Afghanistan tour operators and experts. The very successful tours across the wilds of Northern and Central Afghanistan , led to the National Geographic Traveller Magazine accreditation as one of its 50 Tours of a lifetime.


	Exhibitions


	Again we must thank all the visitors to our stands in January and February 2013 and wish them happy travels for this year. Its early but we have booked ourselves in for 2014 as follows and welcome you to come and meet and chat to us about your travel plans. (1) The Adventure Travel Show at Olympia Exhibition Centre, London 25^th and 26^th of January 2014. Meet Geoff on the stand D11. (2) Destinations Holiday and Travel Show at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, 6^th, 7^th, 8^th and 9^th February 2014. Meet Geoff and staff on Stand M10-Middle East section. Come along and admire some lovely carpets and the Jewelry that we are also displaying.


	Short Tours


	From time to time many of our clients want us to operate short tours. If you wish to explore a destination that has lots to offer that's not so easy. However here is our short list for 2013. ARMENIA Highlights of Armenia June 22 -27 and August 24-29 Ground tour costs - £520 Based in Yerevan we are sampling the life of this almost unknown country-its ancient and religious past and present, its delightful food, brandy, wine and culture. IRAQ Ancient and modern history combined. See listed below our 9 day tours. INDIA KASHMIR Turn to our India page but note that you can stay from 1 day or as long as you wish on the luxurious houseboats in Srinagar and from here you can explore Pahalgam and Gulmarg or just float on Dal or Nagin lakes every day watching the world and the beautiful bird life go by. The daily rate on the de lux houseboats for full board is £65 for a double room. AMARNATH CAVE TREK Although we make it into a 11 day holiday it can be squeezed into 7 days. For much of July and August it is possible to do this esoteric trek. We have our set date 21 July for logistic and cost reasons.


	Tours to Iraq


	Tours to Iraq proper, or Mesopotamia as we like to call it, were on hold from 2004 until 2008, as we were unable to guarantee travel around Iraq and access to the sites despite our astonishing Post war tour in October 2003. We began tours again in March 2009 when Geoff had felt that the return was right. Since then we have operated throughout the years from 2009 until today with some very successful tours. The mood in Iraq is upbeat, vibrant with the security aspects improving all the time. For 2013 we have an improved and increased number of tours
