Items Free to Export
- Foreign currency: Amounts exceeding USD 10,000 (or equivalent) must be declared.
Prohibited Items
The following are goods which cannot be taken out of the country:
- Weapons, explosives, and ammunition without special permission.
- Narcotics and psychotropic substances.
- Items of cultural, historical, or artistic value without permission from the Ministry of Culture.
- Endangered species and their derivatives without proper CITES documentation.
Restricted Items
These goods are strictly regulated, and in most cases require a permit to be obtained prior to departure:
- National currency (Manat) export is limited to 10,000 AZN.
- Precious metals and stones may require special permits.
- Medicines in large quantities or containing strong ingredients require prescription or permission.
