Export regulations in Mauritania
Items Free to Export
- Personal belongings and souvenirs: Travelers can export personal items and souvenirs without restrictions, as long as they are not prohibited or restricted items.
- Foreign currency: There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency that can be taken out of Mauritania, but amounts exceeding the equivalent of 1,000,000 Ouguiya must be declared.
Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited from export:
- Illegal drugs and narcotics
- Weapons, explosives, and ammunition without proper authorization
- Protected wildlife and plants, including products derived from them, without proper permits
- Counterfeit goods and pirated items
