Nepal customs regulations

It is important to know about customs regulations before traveling to Nepal to avoid legal issues and potential fines. As you know, customs regulations widely depend on the country. Before traveling to (or from) Nepal make sure to check the allowance and limits for the next things:

Import regulations in Nepal

Duty-free allowance

Tobacco limit

  • Restricted to travellers 21 years and over;
  • 200 cigarettes;
  • 50 cigars;
  • 250 grams of tobacco.

Bringing alcohol

  • Restricted to travellers 21 years and over;
  • 12 cans or beers;
  • 1 litre of spirits.

Other goods

  • Personal medicine up to a value of Rs1000.
  • Food stuff up to a value of Rs5000.
  • Fresh fruit up to a value of RS2000.
  • Personal goods, including clothing, souvenirs, one personal computer, etc.
